Cheikh Amadou Bamba Mbacke

Cheikh Amadou Bamba Mbacké affectionately known as Bamba was a Senegalese hero. He was a leader, scholar, prolific writer and dedicated follower of the Qur’aan and Sunnah. He is well known scholar for his amazing and profound writing in Arabic on Islam.

Born in 1854, Cheikh Amadou Bamba practiced non-violent resistance against oppression long before Ghandi or MLK. Bamba fought and beat the colonial French Powers with only his Qur’an and pen and with the help of Allah. He used peaceful, non-violent means to win against the French. May Allah allow his name to be as well-known world-wide as theirs. Aameen.

This is the main Masjid’ in Tuba, Senegal. Tuba was founded by Cheikh Amadou Bamba in the late 1800s, it has grown to become the second largest city in Senegal. The people who live there choose Tuba because they can live an Islamic lifestyle modeled after the city of Madena under the leadership of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS).

Magal Tuba

Magal Tuba is celebrated every year on the 18th of Saffar, the second month, in the Islamic Hijri calendar. It commemorates the day the French sent Cheikh Amadou Bamba into exile. He used his time in the forests of Gabon to write about Allah’s Deen and the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAWS). The day is celebrated with conferences, singing of his poems, food and fellowship, and prayer. This year, more than 5 million people from all over the world participated in Magal Tuba, in the city of Tuba, Senegal.

The city of Tuba was established by Cheikh Amadou Bamba in the late 1800s and is now the second-largest city in Senegal. The city is run based on the principles of Islam. People come to live there because they want to live a true Islamic lifestyle. The guests who come to Magal Tuba are welcomed into the homes of the local residents, all in the spirit of Madinah, under the leadership of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS).

Each year we will give a portion of the profits from our book sells to an organization that promotes world wide awareness of the works of Cheikh Amadou Bamba and his contributions to Islam and humanity. This includes FONCAB (Foundation Cheikh Amadou Bamba) or any similar organizations.
